Why Player 2 for Marvel Rivals?

Every Marvel Rivals solo queue tells the same story: five instalocked Duelists, nobody on Vanguard, and the Strategists get blamed for it. The in-game queue can't see role preference across Vanguard / Duelist / Strategist, comm style, or how seriously you take the W. Player 2's AI matches on all of it, so your six has a frontline and healers before the first fight.

Team-up abilities reward squads that plan hero picks together instead of stumbling into them. Match with players whose hero pools complement yours, then keep them: the goal is a recurring six-stack that runs team-ups on purpose.

Filters cover rank, region, language, and platform. Every profile is verified and reportable, and blocks persist. Stop re-rolling strangers every queue and build a six you queue with by choice.

Rivals' roles, team-ups, and ranked rules

Three roles, no role queue

Rivals divides its roster into Vanguard (frontline), Duelist (damage), and Strategist (sustain) but doesn't enforce a composition: the queue will happily hand you six Duelists. The conventional healthy shape is two of each, and getting there in solo queue is a social negotiation, not a game mechanic.

Team-ups reward planned duos

Specific hero pairings activate team-up abilities, bonus effects that only exist while both heroes are on the team. That gives you a structural reason to coordinate picks with the same people repeatedly: a duo that mains a team-up pairing brings an ability solo players never get to touch.

It's 6v6, and the sixth seat matters

Six a side means one more seat than most modern hero shooters, and it's usually spent on a second Vanguard or a second Strategist. The difference between one healer and two is the difference between a comp that can hold ground and one that evaporates in the first engagement.

Ranked climbs are tier-gated for groups

The ranked ladder places you into tiers and restricts how far apart a party's ranks can sit, tightening near the top. Casual modes mix platforms freely, while ranked keeps PC and console pools apart so input advantages don't decide the ladder.
