Find Marvel Rivals Teammates: AI-Matched Hero Shooter Squads
Marvel Rivals is the breakout hero shooter of 2025–26. Finding 6-stack teammates by role (Vanguard / Duelist / Strategist) just got easier.

TLDR
Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 hero shooter where role composition decides games. The matchmaker pairs you with five randoms who all want to play Duelist while you're trying to tank. A stable 6-stack (or even a dedicated duo) is the difference between losing 1-2 and locking 2-0. Player 2 supports Marvel Rivals matching with the same role-aware algorithm it uses for Valorant and Apex.
Why solo-queue Marvel Rivals is harder than Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2 has role queue: you queue as Tank, Damage, or Support, and the matchmaker guarantees the composition. Marvel Rivals doesn't have role queue, at least not in the form OW2 fans expect. You queue, you get five teammates, and the team gets built after the match starts.
In practice, that means:
- The classic "five DPS instaclick" problem. Every match starts with the team picker tournament.
- Your one Vanguard pick (Hulk, Magneto, Captain America, etc.) doesn't decide whether the other Vanguard slot gets filled. Your duo's pick does.
- Even at higher ranks, winning takes enough role flexibility that a fixed duo who can swap composition each match has a structural advantage.
A pre-built 6-stack (or even a 2-3 stack with role assignment) solves all three. That's what Player 2 sets up for Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals role taxonomy
Three roles in 2026:
- Vanguard (tank): Hulk, Magneto, Doctor Strange, Captain America, Thor, Venom, Groot, Peni Parker.
- Duelist (DPS): Iron Man, Spider-Man, Storm, Magik, Black Panther, Hela, Hawkeye, Punisher, Scarlet Witch, Squirrel Girl, Star-Lord, Wolverine, Winter Soldier, Psylocke, Moon Knight, Namor, Iron Fist.
- Strategist (support / healer): Luna Snow, Mantis, Rocket Raccoon, Cloak & Dagger, Loki, Adam Warlock, Jeff the Land Shark.
A balanced comp is usually 2 Vanguard / 2 Duelist / 2 Strategist. Some specific compositions tilt toward 1/3/2 or 1/4/1, but those are advanced calls, not the default.
What Player 2 matching looks like for Marvel Rivals
The standard four-dimension match algorithm applies:
- Rank tier ± 1. Marvel Rivals ranked has wider rank brackets than Valorant; the algorithm tightens to ±1 tier by default.
- Role primary. Your Vanguard main matches with Duelist and Strategist mains, not other Vanguard mains.
- Vibe tags. Willingness to swap heroes mid-match is a useful filter. Some players will never swap and some will, and the matcher knows which is which.
- Availability overlap. Same as for every other game.

Hero pool overlap matters too
A Hulk one-trick who matches with a Magneto one-trick is fine, since they share the Vanguard slot and won't conflict for picks. A Hulk one-trick who matches with another Hulk one-trick is a problem.
Player 2 collects your top-3 hero picks per role at onboarding. The matcher uses pool overlap as a secondary signal and prefers players whose pool complements yours rather than duplicating it.
6-stack vs 2-stack — what to aim for
The math on pre-built teams:
- Solo queue. 5 random teammates. Average match win rate ≈ 50% by definition.
- Duo queue (2-stack). 1 trusted teammate + 4 randoms. Win rate boost ≈ 4–6 pp at mid-rank.
- 3-stack. Half the team is coordinated. Win rate boost ≈ 8–12 pp.
- 6-stack. Fully coordinated. Win rate boost ≈ 15–25 pp at mid-rank, scaling toward parity at top rank where every team is a 6-stack.
Most players hit "good enough" at the 3-stack tier. Going from a 3-stack to a full six still helps, but six people on one schedule is much harder to arrange than one duo partner.
How to actually start
- Open Player 2 and set up your profile.
- List Marvel Rivals as a primary game, then pick your main role and top-3 hero pool.
- Match with a duo first (one trusted Vanguard or Strategist if you main Duelist).
- After 5–10 matches with the duo, you both invite a 3rd, then a 4th and 5th. Stable 6-stacks usually grow from a stable 2-stack.
