How Valorant's queues treat a group
Five-stacks are always legal — with a tax
Competitive lets a full five-stack queue at any rank spread, but wide gaps trigger a Rank Rating reduction: the messier the spread, the less each win pays. At Immortal and above, the queue tightens to solo, duo, or a full five (no trios or quads), which is why high-elo players hunt so hard for a fifth.
There is no role queue
Valorant never assigns roles. Five solo players have to negotiate Duelist, Initiator, Controller, and Sentinel picks in the ninety seconds of agent select. The comp that ends up without smokes usually pays for it all game. Premade groups settle roles before the queue pops, and that's most of their edge.
Premier is a season-long commitment
Premier runs scheduled weekly matches for a registered roster inside a division of similarly skilled teams, with playoffs closing each stage. It expects the same five people at fixed times, which makes it closer to a rec league than a ranked grind. Roster stability matters more than any one player's peak rank.
Console and PC are separate ladders
Valorant on console runs its own queues and its own competitive MMR; there is no cross-input matchmaking against PC. A squad split across platforms can't rank together at all, so "where do you play" comes before "what's your rank."

Does Player 2 support Valorant console?
Yes. Filter by platform when matching. Player 2 separates Valorant PC and Valorant Console queues, just as the game splits its own pools.
How is this different from the Riot in-client LFG?
Riot's in-client LFG is region + rank only. Player 2 adds personality matching, agent-role preference, time-of-day availability, and persistent friends, so a good match can become a recurring duo instead of a single queue.
What's the rank gap on matches?
Default is ±2 tiers (e.g. Diamond gets matched Plat 1 through Ascendant 3). Tighten the filter to ±1 if you only want same-bracket smurfs blocked.
