Why Player 2 for Counter-Strike 2?
CS2's Premier mode is a 5-stack-or-bust queue at the top brackets. Player 2 matches the five roles that an actual T-side runs: entry, lurker, AWPer, IGL, support. The algorithm avoids the "five entries, no IGL" disaster and prioritizes complementary picks.
For Wingman, the duo matching is rank-tight (within ~2,000 Premier ELO) and language-strict (Russian-server queueing-from-NA is the #1 cause of bad teammates). The 'language strict' opt-in surfaces only matches who share your primary call-out language.
Faceit + ESEA matching is on the roadmap but not active yet — current matching is Valve-Premier-pool focused. Counter-Strike 2 replaced CS:GO; legacy CS:GO ratings carry over but matching uses Premier ELO going forward.

Counter-Strike 2 Teammate Finder — FAQ
- Is Player 2 affiliated with Valve or Counter-Strike?
- No. Player 2 is an independent matchmaking service. Counter-Strike 2 is a trademark of Valve Corporation.
- Faceit / ESEA matching?
- Not yet. Current matching is Valve-Premier-pool focused; Faceit + ESEA integration is on the roadmap.
- Does it support legacy CS:GO?
- CS:GO was replaced by CS2 in late 2023. The matching pool is CS2 only; legacy CS:GO ratings are converted to Premier ELO equivalents during onboarding.
- How does the role matching work?
- Specify your role(s): entry, lurker, AWPer, IGL, support, or rifler. The algorithm builds 5-stacks with one of each role where possible, and avoids matching five players who all main the same role.
- Wingman duo matching?
- Yes — Wingman is a separate mode-preference filter. Wingman duos default to ±1,500 Premier ELO and language-strict matching.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Free on iOS and Android.
