Why Player 2 for Apex Legends?
Apex isn't a 1v1 game — it's a 3v3 game where the trio that rotates together wins. Player 2 matches on three things solo-queue can't: legend role complement (Bloodhound + Bangalore + Lifeline beats three Wraiths), drop-spot vibe (hot-drop Skull Town vs slow-rotate edge POI), and rank floor (Diamond+ teammates only, or open to Plat carries).
For ranked, the algorithm respects the LP penalty math — a Predator queueing with two Plats is a -250 LP rotation, so the rank-tier-±X filter is hard. For pubs and Mixtape, looser filters; just match on comm preference and how seriously you take Mixtape (it ranges from "warmup" to "this is my main mode").
Console + PC + Switch all supported. Cross-progression is a wash on the matchmaking side; what matters is who you queue with.

- No. Player 2 is an independent matchmaking service. Apex Legends is a trademark of Electronic Arts Inc.
- Does this respect the ranked LP penalty for off-tier teammates?
- Yes. The default ±1 tier filter for Diamond+ keeps your rank-up grind viable. Manually expand if you don't mind the LP hit.
- Can I match for Mixtape only?
- Yes. Set 'mode preference' to Mixtape and the algorithm prefers players who play Mixtape as their main mode, not as warmup.
- How does it handle a Bloodhound vs Bloodhound conflict?
- Each profile lists primary + secondary legend; the algorithm avoids matching two players whose primary overlaps unless one explicitly tags 'flexible'.
- Apex Mobile too?
- Apex Mobile shut down in 2023. The matching pool is PC + console only.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Free on iOS and Android.
