Why Player 2 for The Finals?

The Finals is a three-player squad game where the map is a weapon. Walls come down, floors give out, and the trio that plans around destruction wins fights it had no business winning. Random fills hand you three of the same build and no plan. Player 2 matches on build preference (Light / Medium / Heavy), playstyle, and comms, so your trio has a shape before the match starts.

Build composition is the conversation: someone makes space, someone holds the objective, someone resets the fight. Tag your main build plus what you'll flex to, and the algorithm assembles trios that cover all three jobs instead of stacking one.

Filter by region, language, and platform. When you need a third tonight, an LFG post with live presence shows who's online. When a trio clicks, keep it: friends, chat, and verified profiles turn one good session into a standing squad.

Cashouts, classes, and The Finals' tournament ladder

Trios with three body types

Squads are three players drawn from Light, Medium, and Heavy builds, each with its own health pool, movement, and gadget access. Nothing stops three Lights from queueing together, but the jobs (make space, hold the objective, reset the fight) don't disappear; somebody just isn't doing one of them.

Cashout is about timing, not kills

The signature mode is banked money: steal a vault, start a cashout, defend the timer. Every fight advertises itself to third parties drawn by the noise. Winning squads are the ones that pick when not to fight; kill-hungry trios feed the timer to whoever waited.

The arena is destructible on purpose

Walls, floors, and whole buildings come down under fire, which makes the map state a resource. A defended position can be deleted from below, and a collapsed roof rewrites a choke point. Squads that plan demolition together get angles that don't exist on anyone else's screen.

Ranked runs as tournaments

The competitive ladder is structured as multi-round elimination tournaments rather than isolated matches. Advancing means surviving consecutive rounds against the bracket, not stacking one-off wins. Consistency across a whole bracket is the skill, and it rewards a standing trio far more than drop-ins.

How Player 2 matches for The Finals

  • Build-complement trios

Light, Medium, Heavy: match into trios that cover all three jobs instead of stacking three of one class.

  • Destruction-minded teammates

Destructible arenas reward squads that plan demolition together. Match with players who treat the arena as part of the loadout.

  • Region, language + platform filters

Queue with players you can talk to, on servers you can reach. The basics, enforced by default.

  • LFG with live presence

Post the open slot and see who's online this minute, instead of scrolling dead recruitment threads for a third.

The Finals Teammate Finder FAQ

Is Player 2 affiliated with Embark Studios?

No. Player 2 is an independent matchmaking service. The Finals is a trademark of Embark Studios.

Can I filter teammates by build?

Yes. Light / Medium / Heavy (plus flex) is a first-class filter, so trios come out balanced instead of three-of-a-kind.

Is this for competitive players or casual squads?

Both. Playstyle tags keep the grinders and the for-fun crowd in separate pools, so you match with your kind of trio.

Does Player 2 handle cross-platform squads for The Finals?

Platform is a filter: link Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation, set where you play, and you'll only match with players you can actually squad with.

How is this better than in-game fill?

Fill gives you two strangers for one match. Player 2 matches on build, playstyle, and personality, then keeps the roster together: tonight's good trio is next week's standing squad.

Is it free?

Yes. Free on iOS, Android, and the web.
