Mobile Gaming Squads: Finding Teammates for Top Mobile Titles
Mobile gaming is 60% of global player count. Squad-finding apps are mostly desktop-first. Here's how to find mobile teammates in 2026.

TLDR
Mobile players are now the majority of gamers worldwide, but squad-finding tools haven't caught up: most Discord LFG servers and competitor apps assume desktop. Mobile-native apps like Player 2 close the gap because they live on the same device the game runs on. The best mobile titles for squad-driven matchmaking are COD Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Wild Rift, Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, Free Fire, and Honkai: Star Rail (co-op-light).
Why mobile matchmaking is structurally different
Three pressures shape mobile squad-finding:
- Session length is shorter. A mobile gamer's typical session is 8–20 minutes (a single match plus queue), not 2+ hours. The matchmaker needs to land a teammate fast, because long matchmaking eats the session.
- The user is on the same device. No alt-tabbing to Discord. The squad-finder lives in-app or it doesn't get used.
- Cross-platform play is partial. PUBG Mobile is its own pool, separate from PUBG: Battlegrounds. COD Mobile and Wild Rift each run their own pool, too. The matchmaker has to respect this.
Desktop-first apps (Gankster, Tapin, FindTeammate) all work around this, but none of them was designed for it. Player 2 was built mobile-native on purpose.
The top mobile titles with active squad demand
| Game | Squad size | Player 2 supported |
|---|---|---|
| COD Mobile | 4 (BR), 5 (MP) | Via Warzone profile |
| PUBG Mobile | 4 | On roadmap |
| Wild Rift | 5 | Via League profile |
| Clash of Clans | Clan-based | Yes → |
| Brawl Stars | 3 | On roadmap |
| Free Fire | 4 | On roadmap |
| Genshin Impact | Co-op 4 | On roadmap |
| Honkai: Star Rail | Co-op-light | On roadmap |
| Marvel Snap | 1 (deck talk) | Discord-only |
| Pokémon Unite | 5 | On roadmap |
The roadmap entries are titles whose in-app matching pool is small enough that a dedicated landing page would be too thin to be useful. Once a critical mass of users has a title in their profile, that game gets its own page.
Mobile-specific LFG advice
- Pre-build your squad. Don't queue-build. Mobile session lengths punish "I'll find a teammate during queue." Get the squad first, then queue.
- Default to voice chat in-app, not Discord. Running a Discord call next to a mobile game is fiddly, and most mobile games have decent in-game voice now.
- Filter for time-of-day, not "any time." Mobile play is heavily shaped by commute times. A morning subway-commute player won't overlap with a midnight-after-shift player.
- Use a mobile-native squad-finder. Phone-to-phone is the friction-free path, and Player 2 is built mobile-native.
Anti-toxicity is even more relevant on mobile
Mobile games skew younger, and the toxicity rate per match is comparable to desktop. The reporting and verification tools on mobile are weaker, though. In most mobile games, a voice chat report doesn't actually lead to action.
Apps where blocks and reports carry over from one session to the next, like Player 2, are doing what the in-game systems should do and don't. See How to Find Non-Toxic Gaming Friends.
